New Thanksgiving Recipes Ideas - Make It Unique And Just Your Own

Mmmm….Aahhh….Ohhhh!  Can’t you just smell those delicious Thanksgiving recipes floating in the air?  It’s that time of year again to pull out your cookbooks and start thinking about the fabulous meals that you will be creating this autumn season.  It’s time to put away your used-up, old summer recipes of hot dogs, hamburgers and baked beans and start thinking of mouth-watering, warm and cozy comfort foods that are associated with the brisk season of fall.

Instead of making your typical comfort dish of lasagna, try a new spin on this old classic, thanksgiving style.  In place of Italian sausage, red sauce and oregano, try layering roasted diced butternut squash, fresh basil, nutmeg and olive oil.  Add those to the layers of mozzarella cheese and lasagna noodles and you have a delicious fall alternative to the typical lasagna dish that you’ve grown accustomed to.  This Thanksgiving recipe transfers great to your freezer, so you can make it ahead of time for a great side dish to your big turkey meal, or divide this dish up and freeze smaller portions separately for another meal.  Can’t you just picture it?  You, curled up next to a warm fire with a soft blanket, your favorite book and a succulent plate of butternut squash lasagna for you, and only you to savor on a cold autumn evening.  What could be more inviting?

When deciding what to serve your friends and family this Thanksgiving, why not think of alternative recipes instead of the same-old roast turkey and  mashed potatoes that you’ve always served.  Think outside of the box.  How about trying a deep fried turkey served with a Cajun spiced stuffing, or go a completely different route and serve a beautifully prepared roasted duck with orange marmalade sauce?

If you’re in the mood for a more casual thanksgiving or you want to prepare a fun meal for the big game, try making your favorite chili using ground turkey instead of beef.  It’s a delicious and healthier alternative to you favorite football game meal.  Serve it with a piping hot piece of cornbread and a dollop of cool sour cream and you have a one stop meal that will keep your crew cheering for their team even as they head into double overtime!

There are so many different Thanksgiving recipes you can create if you simply challenge yourself to use your imagination, have fun and not be afraid to try new things.  You never know, that butternut squash lasagna just might be the thing that brings your family back every year begging for more!  You’ll be famous!
